🎧😊
I understand everything on the radio!
Listening
💬😐
Someone asked me something. I could only nod.
Speaking
📝📊
Listening 90 minutes. Speaking 5. Hmm.
The log
🗣🙂
Fifteen minutes speaking daily. Now I answer back!
A month on
- Drift is normal. Self-taught learners slide toward listening and reading because they feel comfortable. Comfortable skills quietly take over the week.
- Output shows mutations. Writing and speaking reveal whether you can really produce lenition and eclipsis. Each skill supports the others.
- Try a balanced hour. Roughly 20 minutes listening, 15 reading, 15 speaking and 10 writing. Adjust the split to your own goals.
The Irish Gaelic Self-Study Progress Tracker at https://kimnet8.gumroad.com/l/kanmzp logs minutes for listening, speaking, reading and writing in separate columns, so drift shows up in weeks. Check the split each week and nudge the weakest skill.
