How to Tell If One of Your Cats Isn't Eating When They Share Food
← Back to the Complete Multi-Cat Household Guide

🍽🐱🐱
The bowl is empty. Everyone ate!
Day 1
🙈🐱
Wait... did Luna actually eat?
Day 2
🍲🍲⏰
Own bowls. Set meal. Watch.
Day 3
📝🐱
Luna ate half. Now I know!
Day 4
- Shared bowls hide it. An empty bowl only shows the group ate, not that every cat did, because a bigger appetite can cover for a smaller one.
- Watch one meal. Give each cat a bowl and pick up leftovers after 20 to 30 minutes, and space the bowls apart so nobody gets crowded out.
- Write it per cat. A cat who eats little for about a day deserves a call to your vet, since a quick note each meal shows the pattern.
The tracker's Appetite Level and Food Amount columns give each cat its own line at every meal, so download the Multi-Cat Household Health & Litter Tracker and turn a vague worry into a clear note.
